Patrick Klein became Director of Aviation for the Kansas City Aviation Department June 1, 2016. In this role Patrick oversees all aspects of the management, development, operation and maintenance of Kansas City International Airport and Charles B. Wheeler Downtown Airport. Patrick is responsible for 400 employees and annual revenues of over $150 million. 

Patrick has worked for the City of Kansas City, Missouri, for over 25 years, serving in a variety of management roles. In the 6+ years since being named Director of Aviation, Patrick has overseen improvements to the current terminals including an updated International Arrivals Facility, upgrades to seating, lighting and electrification and various airfield improvements. He has overseen the Department’s response to the pandemic and has the airport well positioned for the future all the while keeping the BuildKCI project on-time and on-budget.

Patrick earned his bachelor’s degree from K-State and a Master of Public Administration degree from the University of Oklahoma.
